High scores from James Suckling!
James Suckling, one of the world’s leading wine critics whose reviews are read and respected by wine lovers, serious wine collectors, and the wine trade worldwide, published the 2019 wine tasting report for Tuscan wines. On his 100-point scale “a wine rated 90 points or more is outstanding”.
We are proud that four of our wines have received 90 and more points.
Here are awarded wines and the tasting notes:
Aiola Chianti Classico 2016
Blueberry and plum aromas that follow through to a full body and round, ripe tannins give this wine lift and brightness. Needs a year or two to come together completely. Drink or hold.
Chianti Classico Riserva 2015
Cherries, hot-stone notes and fruit tea come through here on the nose. Medium to full body, firm, silky tannins and a flavorful finish. The vertical line running through this imparts freshness. Drink or hold.
Cancello Rosso Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2015
A little muted at first, but opens to reveal incense, tangerine peel and fruit tea. Medium-bodied and tangy on the palate with plenty of bitter cherry and chocolate character. Drink now.
Armata dell’Aiola Toscana IGT
A pretty Tuscan red, suggesting tulips, raspberries and lemon pith. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and colorful acidity. Drink now.
